ChatGPT expands its ‘custom instructions’ feature to free users

OpenAI has announced that it is expanding its custom instructions feature for ChatGPT to include free users. Previously available only to ChatGPT Plus subscribers, this feature allows users to add preferences and requirements for the AI chatbot to consider when responding. It saves users time by eliminating the need to rewrite instruction prompts for each interaction. For example, users can specify character count limits or customize the tone of the chatbot’s response. The feature is not limited to paid subscribers anymore and can be used by both free and Plus users on iOS and Android. Custom instructions can also be used with chat history turned off. OpenAI plans to expand this feature to the EU and UK soon.
