ChatGPT can now respond with images and search the web

OpenAI has officially launched real-time internet browsing for ChatGPT, the viral chatbot. Previously, ChatGPT was limited to data sets that ended in September 2021, but now it can browse the internet in real time. OpenAI had experimented with a web-browsing plugin and debuted Browse with Bing, but temporarily put the feature on hold due to concerns about bypassing paywalls. However, it has now been reintroduced and is out of beta. Additionally, ChatGPT can generate images using OpenAI’s DALL-E 3, but this capability is currently only available to certain users in beta mode. ChatGPT became the fastest-growing consumer application ever recorded, with about 100 million monthly active users in just two months. OpenAI’s competitors, such as Google with Bard, are also racing to develop new features for their chatbots. OpenAI received a significant investment from Microsoft and closed a share sale at a valuation between $27 billion and $29 billion. Overall, ChatGPT’s new browsing and image generation capabilities have expanded its functionality and sparked an AI arms race among tech giants.
